Welcome to Thailand !

A short 3 days 2 nights Bangkok trip. One of the best decision of the year!

Not your typical 'visit all tourist attractions' trip but a rather chillax trip. So, if you want a more serene and relaxing holiday, feel free to check out my guide.

Sorry for the low quality and badly angled pictures. Did not expect to be blogging about this , so please bare with me :)

Day 0 (Evening) :
Hotel check in !
Banyan Tree Hotel Bangkok . Specializing in spa and massages. Trust me, they are super awesome . Highly recommended.

Banyan Tree Hotel Bangkok

Main entrance

A small section of the hotel lobby.

Hotel Pool

Best hotel room ever so far! Robes, daily compliment gifts and aromatherapy scents. What more could you ask for!

Looking and feeling oh so spoilt and comfy.

Probably not the best picture of the bathroom but its so beautiful! Oh and there I am (in the mirror), acting all touristy.

Day 1:
Floating Market --> Grand Palace --> Wat Arun --> Hotel Spa --> Sky Bar

Off we go! First tourist spot of the day. Floating market.

Don't think you will ever find scenes like this other than in Thailand?

Frying like a boss. On the boat.

A pit stop by the floating market for us to taste and watch the coconut sugar making process.

Next stop : Grand Palace. And yes, the word Grand says it all.

Detailed carvings and architecture all around the palace and statues.

Okay. If you don't want to look as 'fashionable' as us, be sure to:
1. Wear a sleeved shirt
2. Pants or a long skirt (knee length)
3. Scarfs were not allowed in the Grand Palace, but acceptable in Wat Arun.
We had to layer up ourselves as we were all dressed inapropriately.
So keep in mind if you're visiting these 2 places.

And our most anticipated tourist spot:
Wat Arun.
Of all the attractions in Bangkok, this is the most magnificient of them all.
Wait till you see it during the night!

After a hot sweaty long day, SPA came to the rescue!
Checking out the spa information counter in the hotel lobby.

Pre-spa tea.
Choosing my spa of the day from the menu like a happy little kid.

Part of the decoration in the spa lounge.

Pathway to our individual rooms.

Inside the spa room.

Post-spa complimentary desserts and tea.
Iced tea with coconut jelly pudding. So good!

To end our first night: Bayan Tree hotel sky bar.
Was supposed to visit the Sirocco sky bar ( The best and highest sky bar in Bangkok) but we were too tired. Plus, we had complimentary drinks from our hotel sky bar. Good enough for me !

Colorful complimentary drinks from the hotel.

Day 2:
Chatuchak Market --> Terminal 21 Mall --> Chao Phraya River Cruise

Chatuchak Market.
Food heaven!
A must go in Bangkok to binge on authentic local food. And not to forget, they have super affordable clothings and accesories too.

Food, food and more food!

Mini otak-otak.
Comes in different type of spice flavors.

Next! Shopping!
Terminal 21 Mall
Where all the craziness begins.

After a good shopping spree, to the Pier we go!
At the Pier awaiting for our Chao Phraya River Cruise.

Aspara Cruise by Banyan Tree Hotel.
The cruise is slightly more expensive than the average Chao Phraya River Cruises, but if you're into a nice quiet and private cruise, this is totally the cruise for you.

Buffet Bar.
Food was average but excellent service and ambience.

Our table setting.

View from our cruise.

The magnificient Wat Arun by night time.
Something not to be missed if you're in Bangkok.

We even had complimentary pictures in front of the amazing Wat Arun on our cruise.
One postcard for each of us.

Day 3:
Time flies! Home!

Ending the awesome trip with a pink cab back to the airport.
Goodbye Bangkok!

Love:
Colorful cabs, Chao Phraya Cruise, Floating Market, Wat Arun, Spa!

Not so much:
All wrapped up in multiple layers.Oh the heat! Be sure to dress accordingly!

Revisit:
For sure!

Inside the Cafe

Ordering chit near the cashier.
All must order from here as there are no menus on the table.

Artsy hand painted drawings

More artsy drawings under the cashier
